LEEDS-based supermarket chain Asda has “streamlined and shortened” its standard terms and conditions for suppliers.
The chain confirmed that it had made the changes following an article in The Mail on Sunday, which stated that at least one supplier had reacted with “dismay” when he read the new terms.
An Asda spokesman told The Yorkshire Post: “Any pre-existing agreement with current suppliers are unaffected. Any supplier with concerns should contact their day to day contact at Asda.”
Last week Asda, which is led by chief executive Andy Clarke, reported its worst sales fall in more than 20 years.
