Audio: Comic Hugh Dennis on his marks for this year's Bupa Great Yorkshire Run

ACTOR Tony Audenshaw, comedian Hugh Dennis and belly dancer Sophie Mei were in Sheffield yesterday to encourage runners to pull on their trainers for this year's Bupa Great Yorkshire Run.

The 10K road race, which follows a route from Sheffield city centre to Hillsborough and back, will be held this year on Sunday, September 5.

It will be the fourth year the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run has taken place and up to 10,000 runners, walkers and joggers are expected to take part.

At yesterday's launch event in Fargate, the three celebrity runners and Coun Paul Scriven, leader of Sheffield Council, said they would be running for various charities.

Best known for playing Bob Hope in Emmerdale, Mr Audenshaw will be running for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Both Mr Dennis, who has appeared in Mock The Week and Outnumbered, and Miss Mei, a semi-finalist on Britain's Got Talent, will be running for Bupa's nominated charity, the Alzheimer's Society.

The entrance fee for the run is 26 and those who wish to take part can do so online at www.greatrun.org. The closing date for downloadable entries is Friday, August 20, and the closing date for online entries is 8am on Friday, August 27.
