Awards ceremony to honour region's sports successes

Successful sports stars from across the county are set to be recognised at the annual South Yorkshire Sports Awards, to be held in Sheffield later this month.

Rotherham Sailing Club, Wath Cricket Club and the City of Sheffield Diving Club will be fighting it out for the Club of the Year accolade at the awards evening, at the English Institute of Sport in Attercliffe on Wednesday, January 19.

South Yorkshire Sport director Bruce Kelsey said: "The quality of the nominees for our Club of the Year award proves that there is a huge and lasting commitment to sport across South Yorkshire.
