THE Yorkshire Post is extending the deadline for this year’s Excellence in Business Awards due to demand.
Companies now have until the evening of Friday, July 6, to submit their entries to the prestigious awards programme.
The annual awards are open to all companies and individuals with a great story to tell about how they are defying the recession to achieve growth, create and sustain employment and come up with ground-breaking new products and services for domestic and international markets.
Business Secretary Vince Cable is the headline political speaker at the awards ceremony, which takes place on November 1.
Mr Cable told the Yorkshire Post: “Despite the difficult economic conditions we are continuing to see businesses taking the initiative, being innovative and thriving.
“It is great that local companies in Yorkshire are being recognised for the fantastic work they are doing to help boost the local and UK economy.”
Acclaimed impressionist, comedian and committed Leeds United supporter Alistair McGowan will be the master of ceremonies.
The wide-ranging categories recognise young entrepreneurs, export, outstanding employment practices and innovation.
Peter Charlton, Editor of the Yorkshire Post, said: “Our awards celebrate the successes of Yorkshire’s world-class businesses.”
DLA Piper, Goldman Sachs, PwC and Yorkshire Bank are the main sponsors.
Entries can be submitted online via a simple process at www.yorkshirepost.co.uk
