Bafta is child's play for Cant

TV veteran Brian Cant – known to millions for his appearances on Play School and Play Away, as well as voicing the Trumptonshire tales – is to be honoured by Bafta.

The presenter, 77, is to receive the "special award" for his outstanding contribution to children's programmes.

Cant, originally an actor whose credits include early Doctor Who stories, was a key part of the childhoods of a generation of youngsters.
