Bank evacuated as fire breaks out

A BANK had to be evacuated after a fire broke out in one of the building’s rooms.

Around 100 staff inside the Lloyds Banking Group building on Furnival Road, Sheffield, had to leave while firefighters ventilated the premises after the blaze.

Smoke from the fire affected all four floors of the building.

It is thought to have started in an air-conditioning unit.

None of the staff members were injured in the incident, which happened around 7.55pm on Thursday October 27.
