Baristas' grounds for hope

COFFEE makers from Leeds and York are set to fight it out at the finals of the UK Barista Championship, after winning the North and Midlands round of the contest at Sheffield's Millennium Galleries this week.

Will Corby from Cardiff took first prize in the contest, while Carl Fleischer from Opposite Caf in Leeds was second and Gordon Howell from Caf Harlequin in York came in third.

Each contestant had to make a cappuccino, an espresso and their own signature drink at the competition, which took place in Sheffield on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The finals will be held on London on Sunday, February 28.
