Bark not Bach at Proms

BOOM boom: BBC Proms bosses are swapping Bach for bark – by adding Basil Brush to the line-up for his debut at the classical concerts.

The fox puppet will appear at a children's extravaganza at the Royal Albert Hall on Bank Holiday Monday.

He will host the event beside Radio 3 presenter and conductor Nicholas Collon.

Young members of the Aurora Orchestra, plus the National Children's and National Youth Chamber Orchestras – with children as young as 10 – will take part.

Basil said: "Ah, the glorious Royal Albert Hall! Brings back fond memories for me when I was a young Brush.

"With plenty of music and dancing, it's bound to be splendiferous fun for the whole family."
