Barnsley Bard tunes up for switchover

Poet Ian McMillan, the Bard of Barnsley, was in Leeds yesterday for a public information campaign about the forthcoming digital TV switchover.

The broadcaster and Yorkshire Post columnist was at the White Rose Shopping Centre for a special poetry reading to remind TV viewers in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire that analogue terrestrial services will start being switched off in August and September. Switchover will enable Freeview coverage to be increased to reach virtually all households in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
