A BARRISTER was found dead in a room at a Leeds city centre hotel, a inquest opening heard.
Steven Crossley, 49, was found hanging in a room at 42 The Calls hotel earlier this month , an inquest opening at Wakefield Coroner's Court was told.
The inquest opening heard police attended after receiving a call from a member of staff at the hotel just after 11am on July 9.
Paramedics were called and Mr Crossley, of Franklin Road, Harrogate, was pronounced dead just after 11.30am that day.
a post mortem report by Dr Lisa Barker gave the preliminary cause of death as hanging.
Area coroner Jonathan Leach adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.
A statement on the website of Exchange Chambers, which has offices at Oxford House on Oxford Row, Leeds reads: "It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Steven, a popular and widely respected member of chambers.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with his wife and family. We will do all we can to support them at this dreadful time."
