Bath tub firm boss fined for safety breach

A MAN has been prosecuted for breaching fire safety regulations after his employee had a lucky escape in a blaze at his Jacuzzi businesses in Scarborough.

Seamus McDonald, of Jet 2 Spa’s, Durham Place, Scarborough, a manufacturer of Jacuzzi bath tubs, was prosecuted by North Yorkshire Fire Authority for safety breaches after an employee living on the first floor of the premises was lucky to escape after a fire on May 3, 2013.

Investigations showed there was inadequate fire separation between the commercial and residential parts of the premises.
