Beachgoer dies in shark attack
A beachgoer died yesterday in a shark attack off the central California coast, sparking the closure of three beaches.
The person was killed yesterday morning at Surf Beach, about 130 miles north-west of Los Angeles in Santa Barbara County.
Surf Beach is on the property of Vandenberg Air Force Base but is open to the public.
A Vandenberg spokesman said the base closed the beach and two others for 72 hours.
