Carperby is just a stroll away from one of the best known Dales landmarks – Aysgarth Falls, one of the country's finest waterfall walks.
The village was also honeymoon host to Mr and Mrs Alf Wight, better known as James Herriot, the author who brought international fame to the Dales.
