Beetle drive for weddings

THIS wedding car with a difference – a stretched Volkswagen Beetle – will take centre stage at a wedding fair in York on Sunday, October 6.

The six-seater 1970s car will appeal to couples looking for an unusual vintage car on their big day. Melody Beavers, left, and Jennifer Cork are pictured with the vehicle outside the Hospitium in the Yorkshire Museum Gardens in York, where the wedding fair is being held. There will be 40 stalls and the event is open to the public for free from 11am to 3pm. All funds raised by weddings at the Hospitium are put towards the care of the buildings and collections at York Art Gallery, York Castle Museum and York St Mary’s, which are looked after by York Museums Trust.
