Bid to build in manor grounds hits opposition

An outline planning application has been submitted to build a house and double garage in the grounds of 35 Greenhill Main Road, known as “The Manor.”

A total of 12 letters of objection have been submitted to Sheffield Council in opposition to the plans, claiming that nearby Meadowhead Avenue already “suffers from heavy on-street parking” and the “design of the house would not be in keeping with the surrounding area”. Ms Munn, meanwhile, says that the development would impact on the Greenhill Conservation Area.

However, city planners have recommended that councillors approve the plans at a meeting to be held at 2pm today.

The planning officers say there would be “no impact on the character and setting of the Greenhill Conservation Area or the listed building”.
