Biker dies in Catterick crash

A MOTORCYCLIST from Northallerton died when his vehicle left the road and crashed into a lamppost last night (Friday).

North Yorkshire Police said the 24-year-old man was travelling east on Leyburn Road, Catterick Garrison, on a white Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle, when it left the road and collided with a lamppost shortly before midnight.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or the motorcycle involved before the collision, to come forward.
