Biker ‘very poorly’ after days in ditch

A MOTORCYCLIST discovered in a ditch almost three days after being seriously injured in an accident is “very poorly” in hospital.

Anthony Margrave, 40, spent three nights in the open while a major search operation was underway, before being found six feet down in a ditch at the side of the busy A614.

His sister Sharon said he was still in critical care at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. “He hasn’t deteriorated, which is the main thing,” she added. “He is still having aid with his breathing. He is very poorly.”

Police believe Mr Margrave, who lives in Rawcliffe Bridge, 20 minutes from the scene of the accident, hit a metal signpost on the offside of the carriageway and then travelled about 200m further before coming to rest in the ditch.
