Blair on sofa for debut of new breakfast show

Tony Blair was due to join Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles on the sofa this morning for a new breakfast TV show.

The ex-One Show hosts are reunited on Daybreak, ITV1's new morning programme, broadcast from 6am.

Former Prime Minister Mr Blair was expected to give his first live UK TV interview since publication of the book, A Journey.

On Saturday, he faced a barrage of abuse as he was confronted by anti-war protesters at his first book signing in Dublin.

Bleakley said she hoped her co-host's "jolly demeanour" would help her cope with the early starts.
