Blast at Afghan mosque kills 15
An explosion at a mosque in northern Afghanistan yesterday killed 15 people, including a provincial governor.
More than 20 people were wounded in the explosion, which occurred during Friday prayers, said Gen Shah Jahan Noori, police chief of Takhar province. The governor who died, Mohammad Omar of Kunduz province, was likely to have been the target, he said.
