Blast victim still in hospital

A PENSIONER remains in hospital after being burned in a gas explosion at sheltered accommodation in Doncaster on Sunday morning.

They were taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary by ambulance following the blast at Epworth Court in Chapel Street, Bentley, and have since been transferred to Sheffield's Northern General Hospital.

Another resident who had breathing difficulties due to the explosion, which ripped apart the block of 14 flats, has since left Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Other residents affected are understood to be staying with friends and relatives.
