Blaze at Sheffield timber warehouse
Six fire crews were called to the Arnold Laver warehouse on Oxclose Park Road North, Halfway, after the blaze broke out at 6.30pm yesterday evening (July 2).
They arrived to find two forklift trucks well alight inside the building which is used to store thousands of tonnes of wood.

Group manager Simon Rodgers, who attended the incident, said: “The first crews to arrive at the warehouse worked quickly and professionally to gain access to the building, put out the vehicle fires and prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the building.
“There can be little doubt that their actions have prevented many hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage being caused.”
The only other damage, apart from to the fork lift trucks, was to a lorry, a spokesman for the fire service said.
No one was hurt in the incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
