Blow for Governmentas immigration soars

Growing numbers of overseas students and a drop in the number of Britons leaving to live abroad fuelled a 20 per cent increase in migration to the UK last year. The increase was bad news for the Government, which aims to reduce immigration to "tens of thousands, rather than hundreds of thousands".
