Blue tits vanishing from our gardens
A British Trust for Ornithology survey revealed a 42 per cent decline in blue tits visiting gardens over the past 40 years.
The BTO’s Tim Harrison said changes in the types of bird feeders and new foods such as nyjer seeds and sunflower hearts had seen numbers of species such as goldfinch and long-tailed tits visiting gardens soar.
