Body found in British boy hunt

Police searching for a 12-year-old British boy missing on a French island have found a child’s body.

The discovery was made on the island of Porquerolles, where Pierre Barnes, from Grantham, Lincolnshire, vanished during a storm while on a bike ride on Saturday within hours of his family’s arrival for a half-term holiday.

His father last night was expected to identify the body which was recovered by the local fire and rescue service.
