Police searching for a missing diver have recovered a body off the coast of Scarborough.
A man's body has been recovered by officers from the Yorkshire and Humberside Underwater Search and Marine Unit today (Monday July 23).
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "We are not yet in a position to identify the body.
"Police are supporting the family, and would ask that you respect their privacy at this extremely difficult time."
The 74-year-old diver, of Scarborough, was reported missing on Sunday July 8.
He had been diving a well known wreck two miles off the coast.
It is believed the diver was with a group of friends aboard the Francis Ann, which is privately owned by members of Scarborough Sub Aqua club.
A group of club members and non-club members were diving the wreck and were estimated to have been around 46 metres deep off Ravenscar.
