Small enough to fit into a pail, this little piggy is causing a sensation at a Yorkshire farm.

The tiny animal, called Clyde, is settling into his new home at St Leonard’s Farm Park, Esholt, Bradford, along with fellow micro pig Bonnie.

At just seven and eight weeks old, the rare pair are not expected to grow beyond 45cm tall.

Farm owner James Wainhouse said: “We have been looking for ages to get the right ones. I bought them in Lincolnshire from two different farms so they are not related.

“They should grow to no more than 40 to 45 cms tall. It has taken genetics 15 years to get them to this size. At the moment we have them inside with the heat light on them. When the weather gets better we will let them out in the field because they love to go outside. My son chose the names and I thought they looked quite nice.”

Mr Wainhouse paid around 800 for the pair of animals, which visitors can see at the farm park in West Yorkshire.

It is hoped that Bonnie and Clyde will breed and produce tiny offspring next year.

In recent years the popularity of micro pigs has risen as they have been snapped up by celebrities as pets.
