Bottling plant on quarry site rejected
Pressure group Friends of the Peak District joined residents and other groups including the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to object to the plans at Cowdale Quarry, near Buxton.
In all, High Peak Borough Council, which refused the application, received nearly 300 letters against the application. Objectors said the quarry had not been worked since the 1950s and argued the site had reverted back to nature.

“With such a strong refusal, we’re hoping that developers have got the message and won’t waste their time with an appeal.”
