Boys better thangirls at saving cash

Boys are better savers than girls, having set aside over £50 more than girls on average, a survey showed.

The average boy under 16 has 1,089 in a savings account, compared with around 1,037 for girls, according to the Halifax. Boys had higher average savings balances than girls in three-quarters of local authority districts. The biggest difference is in Westminster, where boys have salted away 2,027, compared with girls’ 1,661.
