A customer came to the shopkeeper’s aid amid the struggle and one of the three males had his face covering removed. He is described as an Asian male, aged 18-22 with a thin face and a beard.

The other two males were also Asian and aged 18-25.

All three were wearing dark clothing.

Following the struggle, they fled empty handed, two along Clayton Road and then onto Cemetery Road and Northside Terrace. The other ran down a pathway between Clayton Road Fisheries and Cutz 2000 towards Scholemoor Road.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford CID, said: “This was a terrifying attempted robbery on a shopkeeper simply going about his business.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information to call police on 101 quoting log 35 of Sunday 6 August.”
