Bride-to-be has two reasons to celebrate wedding fair

BRIDE-TO-BE Caren Hirst will be searching out the perfect additions to her big day while also raising money for the charity she works for at a wedding fair.

Miss Hirst will be attending the annual event being staged in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice in York to find some last minute ideas for her wedding later this year.

She is the manager of the charity’s Selby shop and is planning to choose flowers for her wedding bouquet at the fair, which will be held next month at the Parsonage Hotel in Escrick.

The charity is especially close to Miss Hirst’s heart as her grandfather, Sydney Cutsforth, was cared for by staff at the hospice before he lost his battle with cancer in September 2009.

She said: “The wedding fair is for such a good cause, St Leonard’s is a local charity and I obviously work there too, so I am really looking forward to going along for some more ideas for my wedding.”

Miss Hirst, 26, will be tying the knot with her fiancé, Matthew Clark, 31, who she met five years ago at a music festival, at a service at the 18th century Fairfield Manor on the outskirts of York on October 28.

The wedding fair will be held from 11am to 3pm on Sunday, February 13, and entry is free.

All proceeds raised during the fair will go to St Leonard’s Hospice.
