Bridge replacementwork due to begin
Work to replace a bridge whose looming failure threatened the future of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is expected to start this week when workmen remove the old beams at Bridge 30, between Goathland and Grosmont.
The aim is to have a new bridge in place before the start of its main running season on March 27. The cost of rebuilding the structure is estimated at 650,000.
