PACIFICA GROUP, a supplier and installer of domestic heating, plumbing and electrical appliances, is to expand its specialist repair and insurance claims facility in Elland.
The news was revealed by Matthew Briggs, a Yorkshire businessman who has been appointed chief commercial officer of the Chester-le-Street company.
Mr Briggs is the former chief executive of legal services start-up Brilliant Law, now known as Genus Law, and previously held senior roles at Capita Insurance Services and York-based Minster Law.
He told The Yorkshire Post that Pacifica “is a fascinating and unique business, built over the last 15 years largely by recommendation”.
The £25m-turnover company works with a number of blue chip clients including the AA, Argos and the Co-operative Group.
Pacifica’s range of services also includes manufacturers’ guarantees and extended warranty products and partnerships with energy firms through the Government’s ECO and Green Deal schemes.
The company, which is owned by its founders, employs 300 people across six sites in the UK, including a hub for home emergency engineers in Sheffield. It has offices in Germany and Korea.
The site in Elland employs 40 people and houses the company’s flatscreen TV repair facility along with a 35,000 sq ft warehouse containing more than imported 100,000 appliance spare parts for distribution.
Mr Briggs said the site will treble in size over the next two years.
