British winner collects £39m Euro winnings

A UK ticket-holder has received £39.7m in prize money after winning the EuroMillions jackpot, National Lottery operator Camelot said yesterday.

The lucky winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, scooped the sum in Friday's draw.

Camelot said the money has now been paid into the ticket-holder's bank account after the claim was successfully validated.

The latest winner is third in the National Lottery Rich List, according to Camelot.

Top of the list of lottery wins are Nigel Page and his partner Justine Laycock, who won a 56m EuroMillions jackpot in February. Mr Page celebrated with a bacon roll at his local caf with his family. The couple from Cirencester, Gloucestershire, plans to buy a new car.

In joint second place on the rich list are a couple from Newport, South Wales and members of a seven-strong Liverpool syndicate who banked 45.5m in November.
