Brochure promotes centre nightlife

A BROCHURE advertising the wares of 34 of Hull’s finest cafe bars and restaurants has been launched in an effort to boost the city’s evening economy.

The guide, called Eat, Drink and Enjoy, has been put together by Hull’s Business Improvement District (BID) and reveals a range of venues offering everything from fine dining to the more affordable, from formal to more family-friendly outlets.

Each entry shows where they are, what they do, opening times and how much they charge.

A total of 20,000 copies of the colour brochure have been produced and will be available through the venues, hotels in the area and tourist information centres.

Jennifer Marshall, marketing co-ordinator at Hull BID, said: “Our research told us the main reason people were by-passing the city centre in the evening was that they didn’t know where to go or what was available. We hope to resolve that by publishing and distributing this dine brochure.”

Vanessa Tomlinson, manager of The Wilson bistro in Freedom Quay, said: “This is a great idea and should do a lot to improve awareness of what the city centre has to offer to people looking for quality places to eat and drink.”
