Bus travellers urged to have say on services

PUBLIC transport users have been urged to give their opinions on a new bus partnership which would see South Yorkshire’s main operators working together to provide better services.

The agreement could see reduced fares and interchangeable tickets after First South Yorkshire, Stagecoach Yorkshire, TM Travel and Sheffield Community Transport signed up to the deal.

Transport bosses across the county have also approved the scheme which they said would increase the number of people using buses by making the network simpler and more convenient.

Passengers can see details of the proposals online at www.sheffieldbuspartnership.co.uk and can also answer a short questionnaire giving their verdict on the ideas contained in the strategy.

The consultation opened last Friday and runs until July 14.
