Business brisk at cancer charity shop

WESTON Park Hospital Cancer Charity's new shop in Crookes, Sheffield, has been enjoying "brisk business" in its first week.

Donations of clothes, books, accessories and CDs, however, are still needed to stock the shop at 247 Crookes Road.

They can be dropped off either at the shop itself or at storage company Big Yellow in Penistone Road.

Charity director Rachel Thorpe said: "We were thrilled to welcome our supporters to the official opening. Then, the very next day, when we opened for the first time to the public we were delighted there was a whole queue of people waiting."

"We hope that the shop will become a focal point of the Crookes community, somewhere where people will regularly drop in to pick up a stylish bargain."

Volunteers are also wanted to give half a day a week to staff the shop, which is open from 10am to 4pm during the week and from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.
