Butcher has no beefs about TV role

Butcher David Lishman, founder of Lishman's Butchers in Ilkley. West Yorkshire is set to give contestants the chop on national television.

He will be a judge in the industry search for the Young Butcher of the Year.

Mr Lishman will be one of two judges looking at four young butchers to see who can make the final cut.

With more than 30 years in the business, and with several awards under his belt, Mr Lishman is looking forward to his latest challenge.

He said: "It is great to be involved in the Young Butcher of Year programme for the second year running.

"This proves the butchery trade is still important."

The show, hosted by the appropriately-named George Lamb, will air on BBC Three on Monday night.
