Call for better broadband in national park

HOUSEHOLDERS and businesses within the Peak District national park are being encouraged to register their interest in getting improved broadband internet coverage for the area.

The Peak District National Park Authority says it is “keen” to support three authorities – Derbyshire and Staffordshire county councils and Cheshire East Council – which are all working to get broadband access improved in the national park.

Coun Tony Favell, chairman of the Peak District National Park Authority, said: “Having good broadband access will boost efforts to create more local jobs and also make lives easier for the 38,000 national park residents and the millions who visit tourist accommodation in the area each year.”

Surveys can be accessed online at the websites of the three councils in question. Anyone who registers is under no obligation to buy services when they are launched.
