Cancer experts in summit on treatment side-effects

INTERNATIONAL cancer experts are meeting in Sheffield this week to discuss the long-term health problems of people who have received treatment.

As many more people are surviving cancer, their long-term health and consequences of the treatments they received are becoming increasingly more important.

The "Late Effects in Cancer Survivors" conference, which is being hosted by Sheffield University, will address the potential side-effects of current cancer treatments.

Professor Rob Coleman, head of clinical oncology at Sheffield University, said: "The meeting will focus on practical advice for clinical care, as well as promoting the development of new research ideas. "

The conference takes place tomorrow and on Thursday at the Cutler's Hall.
