Cancer trust in cash plea to business

A CHARITY is appealing to businesses in the region to raise funds for a cancer research project.

The Huddersfield-based Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust is holding its Bring a Pound to Work Day on October 18.

Proceeds will go to research in Huddersfield and Leeds to find better treatments for teenagers and young adults with tumours which affect the testes and ovaries and are among the most common cancers in young people.

Trust manager Pam Thornes said: “As a small national youth cancer charity with our roots in Yorkshire we are very proud that this project is based in Yorkshire. We hope people will embrace the fact it is all happening in Yorkshire and they have the power to make a big change to the lives of so many young cancer patients by simply donating £1.” For more information call 01484 510013.
