Capital offer back on track for over-55s on city trains

LONDON might seem a bit closer to over-55s after a scheme offering them cut-price train travel to the capital was relaunched by First Hull Trains.

The Club 55 scheme offers passengers over the age of 55 reduced fares on First Hull Trains services as well as FirstGroup rail services across the country, with First Hull Trains’ passengers saving on average over 50 per cent on return fares from Hull to London.

To celebrate the re-launch, First Hull Trains invited two travellers to take a trip to London on one of its services, giving complimentary tickets to husband and wife Geoff and Jennifer Freeman from Elloughton.

Mrs Freeman said: “We are thrilled to have been given these tickets in celebration of First Hull Trains’ re-launch of Club 55. I think Club 55 is a fantastic initiative and I am sure that we and many of our friends will use it in the future.”

Her husband added: “We have also been told about the 2FOR1 offer on top London attractions when we travel with First Hull Trains. I think Jennifer would like to see a show on the West End, so we will make good use to the offer when we go to London.”

The company operates seven direct return services between Hull and London from Monday to Friday, with the fastest journey time south taking two hours, 34 minutes. The offer runs from today until November 20.
