Captured on CCTV: Leeds station gang who attacked Ilkley victim

POLICE today released pictures of men they want to trace in connection with an attack outside Leeds rail station.

The 23-year-old victim, from Ilkley, was head butted and punched in the face by a gang of up to six men as he walked along the station taxi rank on August 18.

The suspects are believed to have been drinking in the nearby Yates’s Wine Lodge.

Det Con Mick Kelly, of British Transport Police said the attack was unprovoked.

He said: “For no apparent reason one member of the group ran forward and head butted and punched the victim in the face. He received a one inch cut above his eye and a split lip.

“We believe the group may have been drinking in Yates’s Wine Lodge on Boar Lane prior to the incident.”

“The main suspect has been described as a white man, aged between 20-25 years old, with black spiky hair and was wearing a black t-shirt with a motif on the front and a large distinctive wing type design across the shoulders.

“This was a completely unprovoked attack, and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and help police with their investigation.”
