A WOMAN was dragged on to waste ground in Halifax by two men who carried out a serious sex assault.

But the attackers were interrupted by a car which stopped at the scene, causing the attackers to flee.

A new-looking, dark-coloured Ford Focus ST pulled up alongside her. Two men got out and dragged her on to the waste ground.

They then began a serious sexual assault, but as this was occurring another vehicle approached on Straight Lane and stopped at the scene. The two suspects then fled in their car and the other vehicle drove off.

The first suspect is described as in his mid-20s, about 6ft and skinny. He was white, had a thin face, a big nose, short dark hair with a fringe. He wore a long-sleeved top with black and white hoops and spoke with a local accent.

The second man was white, aged about 30, 5ft 4ins and slim. He had short dark hair with a long fringe.

Officers are keen to trace the occupants of the second car. Anyone with information is urged to call 01422 337087.
