Car crashes into Scarborough house

Emergency services were called after a car crashed into a house in Scarborough.

Residents were left in shock as the car smashed into a house in Nelson Street, near the Trafalgar pub, yesterday afternoon (Sunday April 24).

The young woman behind the wheel, who is believed to be a fairly new driver, was not injured but is reported to have been shaken up by the incident.

Tony Bernard, of the Trafalgar pub, said: “There was a lot of flashing lights and nobody knew what was going on.

“There was police, ambulances and the fire brigade. They struggled to actually take the car out of brickwork incase the brick wall fell down.”

The car has now been safely removed from the house.
