Cartoon capers

Poet Ian McMillan and cartoonist Tony Husband took a class in Harrogate yesterday.

They were at the Mercer Art Gallery to take part in a one-off workshop for children aged between eight and 12. The youngsters were given the opportunity to work with the pair who showed the children how they create their poems and cartoons and helped them to have a go and join in.

Later the pair were in Ripley for an evening of comedy, cartoons, poetry and improvisation which saw the Barnsley bard and Yorkshire Post columnist Ian McMillan and Mr Husband create poems and cartoons inspired by the audience and by local stories. PICTURE: GERARD BINKS.
