Cash boost for leaking church

ENGLISH Heritage has handed Huddersfield Parish Church £155,000 to help stop the building leaking and repair notable stained glass windows.

Work at St Peter’s Church, which will start in April, will include improvements on the vestries which leak during wet weather.

Money will also be spent on repairing the east window, which includes work by the renowned stained glass designer William Comper. Glazing throughout the church will be made watertight and the main steps at the west end will be restored.
