Wakefield Council has enlisted Quantum Theatre to bring their lively brand of comedy, music and magic to the great Dickens favourite.

Adapted and directed by Michael Whitmore, the production is said to be “packed full of action, intrigue and a vast array of Dickens’ most popular and infamous characters”.

Councillor David Dagger, Cabinet member for culture at Wakefield Council, said: “The council is very keen to use Pontefract Castle for new events and to attract more visitors to enjoy this stunning historic site. The castle will provide an excellent backdrop for a performance which is suitable for all ages.”

The performance will take place at 7pm on August 29. Gates will open at 6pm. Tickets are £10 adults, £5 children and £25 for a family ticket. Phone bookings are available on 0845 6018353.
