Castle boost for cancer charity run

Fiona Castle, widow of entertainer Roy Castle was in the town to lend her support to the launch of Cancer Research UK's Run 10k, which will take place in Huddersfield town centre on Sunday, October 17. She was joined by tap dancers from the school of theatre dance, in Marsden, in a tribute to her husband's love of dance and memorable record-breaking tap dance achievements.

Organisers hope the event will generate 50,000 towards Cancer Research UK's life-saving research.

Roy Castle, who was born and raised in Scholes, Holmfirth, died in 1994, just two days after his 62nd birthday, after battling lung cancer.

Cancer Research UK's Run 10k, supported by Tesco, is a series of 22 fundraising events which will take place throughout the UK this autumn. To enter Run 10k visit www.run10k.org.
