A SPECIALIST pubs and leisure team has joined property services firm CBRE’s office in Yorkshire, as the firm bids to increase its share of the regional market.

The new recruits have become part of the firm’s nationally expanding specialist markets division.

Six former Colliers International staff have been hired by CBRE, with three joining the existing London team.

The remaining members of the team have formed a new service from the Leeds office.

Senior director Andrew Watt, director Sam Frankland and senior surveyor Clair McGowan are well-known figures within the pubs and leisure sector in the midlands and the north of England.

They have experience of dealing with valuations and agency leases.

They also provide strategic consultancy and investment advice.

Altogether, the team has sold more than 300 pubs between them in the last three years.

The current clients include Punch Taverns, Enterprise Inns, Marstons and Mitchells & Butlers.

The team has also had experience of providing advice in connection with restaurants, themed and branded bars and clubs, cinemas, health and fitness clubs, casinos and bingo.

The newly formed CBRE team recently ‘appraised’ more than 150 pubs.

Andrew Watt, who leads the regional specialist markets team at CBRE, said yesterday: “We have a formed a network of excellence in the specialist markets sector across the UK covering the pub, leisure, health care and alternative assets sectors which provides clients with advice in these areas of real estate.”

Mr Frankland said yesterday: “We believe we have the best team within this sector in the north of England, working closely with our colleagues nationally.

“The opportunity to work within CBRE, who is the market leader in corporate real estate, provided the platform we had been aspiring to.”
