CCTV image released after teenager sexually assaulted in Barnsley

Officers believe the man, who has distinctive hair, could hold vital information to assist with the investigation and are asking for anyone who thinks his appearance looks familiar to contact the police.

The incident took place at around 8pm on Saturday, May 7, at the Barnsley transport interchange in Midland Street.

The victim was approached by a man unknown to her and he is alleged to have sexually assaulted her.

When she got on a bus, he is understood to have also got on the bus with her where he continued to make inappropriate comments.

When the victim left, she alerted her family who called the police.

Anyone who knows the man pictured, or who may have witnessed the incident at the interchange or on the bus is urged to contact police on 101.
